SCHOOL NEWS

Everyone is invited to the K-5 Spring Program this Thursday, March 16 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Students should be in their classrooms at 6:10. If students arrive before, they should remain in the gym with their parents until 6:10.

This Friday, March 17 is HCS Preview Day from 1:30-3:00 p.m.  If you know of any family who is interested in learning more about HCS, please have them contact the office to reserve their spot.  During this event, they will see classrooms in action, tour our campus and learn more about the exciting journey that awaits their child at Highland Christian School.

We’d love to see you participate in Highland Christian’s March Madness Bracket Competition! 

To participate, complete your bracket by Wednesday, March 15. The winner will receive the HCS traveling trophy, a $50 gift card (to the place of your choosing – through TRIP), and will join the ranks of Anne Spoelman and Darla Kinkade (previous winners).

PTO NEWS

Are you or someone you know in the market for a mattress? Mark your calendar for next school year’s PTO Mattress Sale fundraiser on October 7. Students will be able to earn cash prizes for anyone they refer. There are pillows, sheets and mattress protectors too! We hope to see you there!

The Family Dodgeball Night will be rescheduled to a later date due to the snow day on March 3rd. More details to follow soon!

ETC NEWS

Attention all parents:  Tonight is another all school sort night! Join us for sorting at etc from 5 to 7 pm.  We hope to see you there!  (Adults only, please)

TRIP NEWS

This is the last week you can place a physical gift card order before Spring break.  RaiseRight scrip ordering for escrip and reload cards is available 24/7.  Do you need more information about online ordering?  Contact Ann Lynch at [email protected].

TRIP Cash & Carry Gift Cards will be available to purchase the week of Mar. 20th.  Look for a list of gift cards available to purchase in the Parent Note.

TRIP Quarterly Tuition Credit:  Coming up March 31st for online orders and April 20th for physical card orders – those dates will be the last time you can receive TRIP tuition credit for parents of a student (including preschoolers) not returning to HCS or an eighth grader not attending Illiana in the fall or an Illiana student graduating this spring.  Contact the TRIP office if you have any questions. 

TRIP orders are due Thurs. Mar. 16th by 10 a.m. TRIP will be accepting physical gift card orders on Apr. 13, 20, and 27. 

Team C (April Vander Meyden, Jamie Vander Meyden, Janell Eriks) will be putting the TRIP orders together on Tues., Mar. 14th.  Orders will be ready for pick up in the school office on Tuesday by 2:45 p.m.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Volleyball Camp at Highland Christian: Come get active and have fun while learning the game of volleyball! Volleykids is designed to teach kids in grades 4th through 8th the proper fundamentals of volleyball. Whether it’s your child’s first-time playing volleyball, or you want to sharpen your child’s skills, this camp is for you. Our coaches base instruction off of your child’s skills to make it enjoyable for all.
