SCHOOL NEWS

This is the last week of school before spring break.  We pray that our families have a safe and restful spring break!  School will resume on April 3.

Stop in and check out the lost & found table that is set up in the gym foyer.  You just might find some of your child’s items there!  All items left over spring break will be given to etc…thrift store.

The Art Department is collecting shopping bags with handles in order to send students’ projects home. Thank you in advance for your donations! 

Everyone is welcome to the Young Authors Reception:  There is a special reception for ALL students (not just those attending the Young Authors Festival) and their families on Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ozinga Chapel at Trinity Christian College.  Enjoy a performance by Trinity’s improvisational group, enjoy refreshments, and hear guest author (and HCS alumnus!) Laura Martin speak about her books. Trinity will give all children who attend a free Scholastic book! Find out more about Laura Martin at www.lauramartinbooks.com.

Homemade vanilla is available in the office – $2.00 for an 8 oz. bottle. If you have any empty 8, 10, or 12 oz. glass bottles, please send them to the office so more vanilla can be made. Thanks!

The last HCS Preview Day is this Friday, March 24 from 1:30-3:00.

PTO NEWS

Are you or someone you know in the market for a mattress? Mark your calendar for next school year’s PTO Mattress Sale fundraiser on October 7. Students will be able to earn cash prizes for anyone they refer. There are pillows, sheets and mattress protectors too! We hope to see you there!

TRIP Quarterly Tuition Credit:  Coming up March 31st for online orders and April 20th for physical card orders – those dates will be the last time you can receive TRIP tuition credit for parents of a student (including preschoolers) not returning to HCS or an eighth grader not attending Illiana in the fall or an Illiana student graduating this spring.  Contact the TRIP office if you have any questions.  

Team D (Shelly Witham, Mary Brinks, Becca Trepton, Sherry Hiatt) will be putting the TRIP orders together on Tues., Mar. 21st.  Orders will be ready for pick up in the school office on Tuesday by 2:45 p.m.
