Apply for Enrollment

Highland Christian School partners with parents who profess personal faith in Jesus Christ and are living their lives under the authority of God’s Word.  Please review our Admissions Standards prior to initiating an application for enrollment.  Incoming kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 1 of the admissions year and meet readiness requirements. You can view our Enrollment Priority List and Enrollment Timeline Letter.

Please note that the $100 application fee per student is due when you submit an application for PreK-8th grade.  If you need assistance with this process, please contact our Admissions Office at (219) 838-0356 x117.  K-8 Applications are considered complete when the application, fee, recommendations and other supporting documents have been submitted. 

PreK-8 Admissions will open on September 22, 2025 for the 2026-27 school year. If you are interested in enrollment opportunities for the 2026/2027 school year please complete an admissions inquiry form.

Step 1:

    VISIT

Visit opportunities include Preview Days, Preview Night, and Fridays at Highland.

  • Preview Days provide a daytime opportunity for Preschool-8th families on the first Friday of each month September-May.
  • Preview Night provide an evening opportunity for Preschool and Kindergarten families on Monday, September 9, from 6-7:30pm.
  • Fridays at Highland are group tours for Preschool-8th families on Fridays of each month September-May, from 10-11am.

Step 2:

   APPLY

Signing up for Preschool?  Register for Preschool here! Preschool Registration is an open registration process and forms are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. During the preschool registration process you will:

  1. Pay a $100 registration fee per student (required)
  2. Once the registration is processed, an electronic enrollment contract will be issued.
  3. Parents will need to login individually and sign the contract to submit.
  4. Once the contract is processed, immunization records and a parent assessment of child form will need to be submitted.
  5. Once the final two documents are processed, preschool enrollment is complete.

Applying for K-8?  Complete the Online Application! During the application process you will:

  1. Pay a $100 application fee per student (required)
  2. Request recommendations and gather your supporting documents (report cards & national test scores).
  3. For incoming Kindergarteners we will conduct a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment in March of 2026. Here is a list of some of the skills we are looking for with regard to readiness.
  4. Once recommendation and supporting documents are processed, we will schedule your child's incoming student testing. You can self schedule by calling (219) 838-0356 x117.
  5. After our head of school reviews recommendations, supporting documents, and testing results, we will plan your Family's Board Interview! We will reach out to schedule with you based on the availability of appointments.

Step 3:

  ENROLL

K-8 Families Only:

Upon approval by the School Board, we will electronically send you an enrollment contract! Once you have received your notice of acceptance and have accepted the enrollment contract electronically, you are done!

Should a family terminate their PreK-8th grade enrollment contract the following financial obligations will apply:

  • Between the Effective Date and June 1, the parent agrees to pay HCS 10% of the stated tuition
  • June 2-day before school, the parent agrees to pay HCS 50% of the stated tuition
  • Once the school year begins, the parent agrees to pay the full year’s tuition

Appeals can be made to the finance committee within 5 days of notice of unenrollment.
