SCHOOL NEWS

Reminder:  There is no school next Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

Sonshine Enrichment Center, the preschool of Highland Christian School, is having a Parent Preview Night this evening, Jan. 8 from 6:30-8:00. Please enter via the front doors where you will be greeted and directed to the SEC classroom. Strack & Van Til’s and Van Til’s in Hammond Apples for the Students program ends on March 31st!
HCS is earning computers and iPads, sporting goods, audio visual equipment, and science supplies, with your receipts.  Ask your friends and relatives to shop at Strack & Van Til Food Markets and save every receipt. Send the receipts to school with your student as often as possible. The school will count the value of the register tapes collected and redeem them for great educational awards that benefit your child. Thank you!

CHOICE Scholarships at HCS – Applications for the 2nd semester of the current school year must be completed by Friday, January 12th.  If your student does NOT currently have a CHOICE Scholarship AND you have recently moved to IN or you think you qualify based on a change in your family circumstance please contact Lisa Long immediately at [email protected].

2024/25 applications will begin in April and will require your 2023 Federal 1040.  Further information will be shared soon.

PTO NEWS

The next family fun night is on January 19th for kindergarten-2nd grade students and their families. This event will take place from 6:30-8:00 pm in the HCS gym and the entertainment will be provided by Operation Get Down DJ. More information will be coming home this week!

TRIP NEWS

TRIP orders (paper and online) are due this week Thurs., Jan. 11^th by 10 a.m.  TRIP will be accepting physical gift card orders on Jan. 18, 25, Feb. 8, 15, 22 and 29.  Online ordering is available 24/7.  Contact Ann Lynch at [email protected] for more information.

Team B (Amy Jellema, Jamie Paul, Olivia Ridder, Karen Christoffels) will be putting the TRIP orders together on Tues., Jan. 9th. Orders will be ready for pick up in the school office on Tues. by 2:45 p.m.
