School Improvement Appeal News
PROGRESS REPORT: As of 11/23/2016, we have received $21,690 towards our goal of $72,000
Much like pencil and paper, technology has become an essential element in the classroom. It plays a critical role in student experience and learning outcomes. Providing increased opportunity for individualization and peer collaboration, technology increases student engagement and adds to higher levels of learning.
At every level of education, students must gain proficiency in core content areas as well as demonstrate critical thought, communication, problem-solving and computing skills. Highland Christian School prepares students with these skill sets within a biblical framework and in the context of a child’s relationship with Christ.
As we embed these 21st century education goals into the learning at Highland Christian School, we ask for your financial support of our 1:1 technology program. Our goal is to equip every student with a mobile device for classroom use.
Project 1:1 will be implemented with Junior High students in 2017-18. To date, we’ve purchased 48 Mac Book laptops. Based on current enrollment trends, we need 60 additional Mac Books to implement Project 1:1 as proposed. Each unit costs $1,200.
The first $72,000 received as a result of this School Improvement Drive will be spent to purchase these remaining laptops. Additional funds will be used to support professional development activities, Project Lead the Way and S.T.E.M. requirements.
Thank you for considering how you might contribute to this program.
