SCHOOL NEWS

Out of an abundance of caution for those PreK-8th grade students with peanut/tree nut allergies, HCS will be a peanut/tree-nut free school this year.  Some items to avoid: peanut butter, peanuts, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups/Reese’s Pieces, Bamba, Nutella, granola, energy bars (with nuts), nut spreads.  Thank you for your cooperation as we are working to keep all our students safe.

Pick-Up Reminder: When picking up your child via the pick-up line, please remember to place your car sign in the left side of the front window.  If you need new or additional car signs, please contact the school office.

Homemade vanilla is available in the office for all your baking needs.  Vanilla sells for $2.00 for an 8oz. bottle

Ladies Prayer Group meets every Friday at 8:30 am. We will meet in the prayer garden at HCS while the weather is nice. All ladies and unschooled children are welcome. Please leave prayer requests with the office or call/text Taliaha Koutz 219-730-8931.

INDIANA CHOICE SCHOLARSHIP

CHOICE Scholarship applications are being finalized this week.

  • If you have signed your scholarship application, but your tuition billing account does not show the correct amounts, please call Blackbaud at 888-868-8828 and request your automatic debit payment be changed to invoice billing and make a manual payment for the 8/25 due date.  Please contact Lisa Long if you need to know the correct amount to pay.
  • If you have not signed your scholarship application, please check your email for a message from [email protected] and make sure you have provided the necessary documents and planned a time to come in and sign it.
  • If you have not sent in your information to apply yet, you must do so as soon as possible.  Please contact Lisa Long at 219-838-0356 x 168 or [email protected] if you have any questions and need to apply for a CHOICE Scholarship.

SGO Scholarship applications will begin after October.  Please watch for further announcements here.

Are you new to school or don’t know what TRIP is?  TRIP is a gift card buying program.  We buy gift cards at a discount, and you keep the discount (bonus rebate) as a credit to your tuition account.  Contact the TRIP office for more information.

Just a reminder to TRIP parents and family members – If you want your TRIP order to go home with your child in grades kindergarten through 8th you need to fill out a new TRIP registration form to give permission for this.  You can find a current TRIP Registration form up on the Highland Christian School website or pick up a copy in the school office.

TRIP orders are due this week (paper and online) on Thurs., Aug. 25th by 10 a.m.  The TRIP program will be accepting physical gift card orders on Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29.
