Saturday, May 2 | 3:00 to 7:15pm

Students and other interested participants will meet at Highland Christian School and travel by bus to Emagine Theater (Portage, IN). Following the movie, we will return to Highland Christian School, where we will enjoy a pizza supper together (no cost) and spend time discussing the film. The evening is expected to conclude around 7:15 PM, at which point students may be picked up from school.

Parents who plan to attend are welcome to drive themselves. We will coordinate and track these arrangements. Also, parents and other family members are warmly encouraged to attend!
The film runs approximately 97 minutes.

Why would the organization Building Christian Men promote the viewing of The Story of Everything?

Well, simply because it directly supports the organizationโ€™s mission to form young men who lead with courage, think with clarity, and stand firmly on the truth of Godโ€™s Word.

At its core, the filmโ€”drawing from The Return of the God Hypothesis by Stephen Meyerโ€”presents a thoughtful and accessible case that the universe is not the product of random chance, but of intentional design. This message reinforces the foundational biblical truth of Genesis 1:1 and strengthens young men in their confidence that faith in God is not blind, but deeply reasonable and grounded in evidence.

Promoting this film helps our young men reject passivity by engaging them intellectually. In a culture that often challenges or dismisses Christian belief, they are called not to retreat, but to think critically and respond with wisdom (2 Timothy 3:16โ€“17). This film equips them to do just thatโ€”helping them articulate and defend their faith with both courage and humility.

It also calls them to embrace responsibility in the realm of leadership. As future leaders in their homes, churches, and communities, they must be prepared to stand firm in truth (1 Corinthians 16:13โ€“14). By exploring the intersection of science, philosophy, and theology, the film strengthens their ability to lead others with conviction, demonstrating that Christ-centered faith speaks to all of lifeโ€”including the deepest questions about origins and meaning.

Furthermore, the film encourages young men to live courageously in faith. Like Paulโ€™s exhortation to Timothy (1 Timothy 6:11โ€“12), it calls them to pursue truth, resist cultural pressure, and hold fast to what is good. In doing so, it models the kind of bold, thoughtful engagement that reflects Christ-like leadershipโ€”firm in truth, yet marked by humility (Philippians 2:3โ€“8).

Finally, this film provides a valuable opportunity for discipleship. When paired with guided discussion and Scripture, it becomes a tool to help young men grow in wisdom, deepen their understanding of Godโ€™s creation, and more fully embrace their calling as leaders under Christโ€™s authority.

In summary, promoting The Story of Everything advances the mission of Building Christian Men by equipping young men to think clearly, stand firmly, and lead faithfullyโ€”restoring what was lost in Adam by living courageously in the truth and hope found in Jesus Christ.
