SCHOOL NEWS
- Please join us TONIGHT from 5:30-7 p.m. in the HCS gym for a retirement open house to celebrate Jody Moes, Nancy Schoon, and Dori Dykstra’s years of service to Highland Christian School. Cake will be served!
- This Friday is the last day of school for grades K-7 and there is a 1:45 dismissal. Aftercare will be provided on that day. We pray that our HCS families have a safe and blessed summer!
- Highland Christian School 8th Grade Graduation is this Thursday, May 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the HCS gym. Congratulations to the Class of 2023!
- Due to construction, the office is temporarily moving to the BAC room during the summer. While we transition to this space, the office will be CLOSED June 3-5. We will re-open on Thursday, June 6. Summer office hours are M-Th from 8 am- 12 pm.
- Yearbooks are being distributed to students today! If you did not order one, we still have some available. They sell for $18.00.
- If your child has prescription medication, epi-pens, and/or inhalers in the office, please pick them up before school dismisses for the summer.
- Parents – please stop in and check out the “lost and not found” rack in the gym foyer. There are many items there and some of them might be your child’s. Items remaining after the last day of school will be given to etc…Thrift Store.
- An End-of-Year Communicator was sent via email to all families last Friday. This email contains information regarding Summer Reading, Back-to -School 24/25, a change to our Allergy Policy, FUSION, and our annual Golf Outing.
- JRH Coffee Fundraiser: Our order from Just Be Coffee in Munster has arrived. The orders will be in Mrs. Groen’s room for the next 4 days and can be picked up both before and after school this week. After that, the orders will be in the temporary office on the east side of the school starting on Thursday, June 6. Thank you for helping support our Philadelphia trip–we raised over $1000 for our trip in 2025. THANK YOU for all of your generous support!

Deadline Approaching: If you have chosen to apply for the CHOICE scholarship for your K-8 student(s) for the next school year, please click the link and complete the Google form. TRIP NEWS
**Only one more date to order physical gift cards for this school year. If you need physical gift cards over the summer, you will need to send your requests to Ann Lynch at [email protected] .
TRIP orders are due this week, Thurs., May 30th by 10 a.m. TRIP will be accepting physical gift card orders on May 30. Online ordering is available 24/7. Contact Ann Lynch at [email protected] for more information.
Team B will be putting the TRIP orders together today. Orders will be ready for pick up in the school office today by 2:45 p.m.
Zandstra’s Greenhouse gift certificates are available for sale. Each certificate is $17 each and the bonus rebate for each certificate sold will be $3. You may purchase Zandstra’s gift certificates through the weekly TRIP orders or you can contact Ann Lynch to purchase these certificates at other times.

Viking Academy- Illiana is once again offering Viking Academy, a summer camp program for elementary and middle school students.
