SCHOOL NEWS
Highland Christian School is now accepting 2024/2025 preschool registrations for new students. If you are considering an early learning opportunity for your 3, 4, or 5 year old child and would like more information, please contact the school office or register online at www.highlandchristian.org using the admissions drop-down tab.
Being in Christian community is important! Last year, Calvin Christian, Crown Point Christian, Highland Christian, and Lansing Christian came together to host three events for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. These were all terrific events. As a result, the events will continue this year.
- February 2 – 7th Grade at Crown Point Christian (5:30pm – 7:30pm)
- February 9 – 6th Grade at Highland Christian (5:30pm – 7:30pm)
- May 10 – 8th Grade at Illiana Christian (6:00pm – 7:00pm)
Please note the times of these events, as parents are responsible for providing transportation for their children. While this may push some students out of their comfort zone, we want to strongly encourage participation. Each night will be filled with activities, food, and comradery.
7th Grade Parents: It is time to start planning for our 8th grade trip to Philadelphia in May of 2025! Mrs. Groen is hosting an open house meeting about this trip on Monday, Feb. 12 at 6:00p.m. in her classroom. The official presentation will be at 6:00 but you may come to school between 4:00 and 6:00 if you cannot make the presentation. The purpose of starting at this time of year is to spread out payments and fundraising as much as possible. This year, we will have 3 official fundraisers, our snack day on Wednesdays, parking on the 3rd and 4th of July, and a coffee fundraiser that we will have in May. Worldstrides is the company we use to plan the entire trip. Please reach out to Mrs. Groen with any questions as we are in the thick of planning for our trip in May as well and will have answers to your questions. We are looking forward to another year of planning for this 8th grade trip!
