Parent Note: Parent Note – January 2, 2023

Called to Be a Blessing

Matthew 5:3-12

Home > Parent Notes > Parent Note – January 2, 2023

“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”  ~ Psalm 96 1-3 NIV

While students (and maybe adults) had to drag themselves out of bed this morning, students were welcomed with a smile, the day began with prayer, and students are back at it – learning about the Lord’s deep love for them and His world. Although we have only been apart for just a few short weeks, we have missed you. Your children are gifted, compassionate, and an absolute joy.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

While there are many exciting things happening in the coming year, my prayer is that our community can stay focused on what’s most important – helping our children fall in love with the Lord and His great story. My deep hope is that 2023 will bring a new opportunity for:

  • Parents to spend time praying for (and with) their children
  • Teachers to see the hidden talents and desires of students
  • Families to find routines that elevate family meals and devotions
  • Students to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind

What an honor it is to start January together – learning about the Lord and His great love for each of us. Praise to the King!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has been supporting our 8th grade trip to Philadelphia in May! We have raised about $1700.00 since the beginning of the school year and this money has been applied to each student in 8th grade going on the trip! We will continue to have snack day on Thursdays and funds will be applied for the 2023 trip until the end of February.  At that time, we will begin to raise funds for the 2024 trip for current 7th grade! Again, thank you for your support of this trip. Students get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience history.

Our 6-8 Encore Current Events Class is so excited to hold a fundraiser for Ukraine. We have been watching the Ukrainians fight against Russia since the beginning of the year because it is in the news every day. Students have created flyers and will have a BAKE SALE and will sell BRACELETS for Ukraine on January 19 during lunch hour, from 11:30 to 12:30 pm.   Any money collected will go towards helping the people in Ukraine stay warm as most people in the east have no power. Items will be individually priced for $1 and bracelets will be $3.00. We thank you for helping us support Ukraine!
