FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

One of the greatest joys of being the principal at Highland Christian is getting to see the behind-the-scenes look into how God continues to work in miraculous ways. While not unique to the past few weeks, it is remarkable how our community continually steps up to love, show compassion, and take care of one another. Here are some of the recent God-sightings: 

 Members of our community stepped up to support several HCS families in need

  1. Students made significant strides in developing and supporting Christ-centered friendships
  2. Restoration came to some challenging situations
  3. Our Board went to bat to support our incredible teachers and staff
  4. The unmatched financial support for the building project 
  5. Families sacrificed to support Roseland Christian Ministries
  6. The HCS Friday prayer group continued to cover HCS in prayer
  7. Donations pouring in for the Angel Tree Project   

 What I am continually reminded of is that God is and will always be on the move at Highland Christian School. Thank you for being an important part of our school community. God will continue to use each of us (parents, students, and faculty) to impact the world for Christ!

SCHOOL NEWS

This Wednesday, Dec. 7 is a late start day.  School will begin at 10:00.

 Christmas Concert:  This Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m., the Beginning Band and Junior High Band and Choir will present their annual Christmas Concert.  Please come and share this special evening with us, as we rejoice in the birth of our Savior!

Fusion – Bob Goff Event:Highland Christian is excited to announce its partnership with our sister schools (Calvin, Crown Point, Illiana, and Lansing) to host Bob Goff on Saturday, April 29 at Bethel – Crown Point. Reminder to parents who donated items for the Staff Appreciation Breakfast: Please bring in the requested items to the gymnasium door on Tuesday, December 6th after school (3:10 or after).  Thank you!

This is it!!  This is the last week you can order physical gift cards before Christmas!  TRIP orders are due this week (paper and online) on Dec. 8th by 10 a.m.  TRIP will be accepting physical gift card orders on Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26.

Walgreens is currently only available as an escrip card in $25 or $100 denominations.  Wendy’s gift cards are currently not available.

Munster Church in Munster, Indiana is seeking an individual to serve as the church office manager.  The purpose of this position is to help welcome those that enter the doors to the church and community of Munster Church (CRC).  Additionally, this role has some data maintenance tasks and helps coordinate information and events between different ministries and organizations – (28hrs/week).  More information and the job description can be found at www.munster.church under the ‘about’ section.
