SCHOOL NEWS
This Wednesday, May 1 is a late start day. School begins at 10:00.
The Highland Christian School Annual Society Meeting is next Monday, May 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the school gym. On the agenda will be the approval of three board nominees – Blake Evans, Carrie Hutton Latsoudis, and George Van Laten, and the approval of the 2024/2025 budget. The Society Meeting Agenda and absentee ballots are available at www.highlandchristian.org and printed copies of the agenda and absentee ballots are available in the school office.
Moana is sailing into the HCS gym this Thursday and Friday, May 2 & 3! General admission tickets will be available at the door for each performance. Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 16. As a special treat, on Thursday there will be a photo opportunity for children to pose with Moana, Maui and other characters before the play. Doors will open for photos and seats at 6:15. Doors open at 6:50 on Friday night. Join us for all the fun and excitement.
This Friday is Impact Day at HCS! As our students and faculty serve at HCS and in the community, we pray that the love of Christ will be seen in us!

Next week is teacher appreciation week! There will be a flyer sent home with details this week. Let’s show all of our teachers how much we love and appreciate all the hard work they put in for our students!
Muffins for Misses is on May 8th from 7:30-8:15 AM at the soccer fields! Students are invited to bring a special lady to share breakfast. Please bring a chair or a blanket to enjoy your muffin. There will be coffee, juice, or water available.
The Big John’s flower fundraiser will be from May 1st through May 25th at Big John’s Farm Market and Greenhouses in Chicago Heights. Big John’s will donate 15% of your purchase back to PTO. Please bring the flyer with when you make your purchase. Thank you so much for supporting PTO!

TRIP NEWS
No TRIP orders due this week! TRIP will be accepting physical gift card orders on May 9, 16, 23 and 30. Online ordering is available 24/7. Contact Ann Lynch at [email protected] for more information.
Zandstra’s Greenhouse gift certificates are available for sale. Each certificate is$17 each and the bonus rebate for each certificate sold will be $3. You may purchase Zandstra’s gift certificates through the weekly TRIP orders or you can contact Ann Lynch to purchase these certificates at other times.
Team C (Jamie Vander Meyden, Annie Bouquet, Janell Eriks, Alexis Johnson) will be putting the TRIP orders together on Tues., Apr. 30th. Orders will be ready for pick up in the school office on Tuesday by 2:45 p.m.

The Highland Fire Dept. and Highland FOP are having an AYCE Pancake Breakfast this Saturday, May 4 at the Highland Central Fire Department, 2901 Highway Ave., Highland. $10.00 donation per person, kids 5 yrs. and under eat free! Proceeds benefit outreach programs.
