Planned Gifts

Plan your gift, Maximize your impact!

When it comes to providing for your family, financial planning and stewardship go hand-in-hand!  If you have a young family, a basic will may be what you need to get started.  If you're further down the road in life, you may be looking for ways to make a bigger impact and maximize tax savings.  In most every circumstance, planned gifts provide a mechanism for doing good even as you live the good life God has blessed you with!

What makes a planned gift "planned"?

A planned gift is a commitment to give charitable assets from an individual's financial or estate plan.

Are there different types of planned gifts?

Yes.  The most common planned gift is a bequest in a will. Planned gifts range in complexity and typically fall into three categories:

  1. Outright gifts of cash or non-cash assets stated as a specific amount or percentage of an estate.
  2. Gifts that pay income back to the donor
  3. Gifts that protect a donor's assets

What are the benefits of planned gifts?

  • Planned gifts don't affect your cash flow.
  • Planning a gift allows you the benefit of time and strategy.
  • Planned gifts maximize your capacity for generosity.
  • Planned gifts extend your legacy.
