Covenant Model Christian Education
We partner with parent who profess faith in Jesus Christ and are raising their children under God's authority with regular teaching in His Word, and active participate in a local, Protestant Christian Church.

Distinctively Christian
Students participate in classroom devotions, Bible class, and faith formation activities in the course of their regular day. Chapel provides a time of corporate worship and biblical instruction. Our doctrinal position is distinctively Reformed.

Nationally Acclaimed Model PLC School
We've implemented the Professional Learning Community framework (Drs. DuFour & Marzano) and earned the distinction of "Model PLC School" in 2019. Guided by the teachings of Dr. DuFour and Dr. Marzano and informed by Dr. John Hattie's research in Visible Learning, we are able to achieve strong student outcomes.

Project Lead the Way Certified
Our students are equipped with the skills they need for high school and beyond! Project Lead the Way modules provide content rich, hands-on learning experiences that contribute to meaningful acquisition of knowledge, critical thought, and problem solving skills.

Standards Based
Learning and grading is standards based at HCS. We've mapped our curriculum to Indiana State standards and identified power standards for every grade level and content area. As a result, we are able to provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students.

Data Driven - Results Oriented
We are data driven and results oriented. Teachers document and map each student's individual academic journey, providing support and enrichment as needed to ensure high levels of learning for ALL students.

Certified Teachers
All of our teachers are certified and have education degrees; Bachelor of Arts or Master's.

Smaller Class Sizes
We offer three sections at each grade level K to 8. K-3 is capped at 22 students per classroom, and 4-8 is capped at 24 students per classroom.

Comprehensive Curriculum
Our curriculum includes Bible, Art, General Music, Technology, Physical Education & Library at every grade level (K-8).

Quest & Extended Learning
High ability students in grades 3-8 have the opportunity to participate in Quest and other extended learning opportunities.

1 to 1 Technology Program
While learning is largely textbook based (with ample paper & pencil practice) we recognize the value of technology in education and provide each student with their own device for use in the school year. K-2 students use Ipads. Students in grades 3-5 use Ipads with keyboards and Junior High students are issued laptops which can be taken to and from school.

Encore Classes
In addition to their core classes, Junior High students enjoy elective classes. These include advanced art, advanced technology, band, choir, spiritual and student leadership, creative writing, instructional support, IMPACT and yearbook/newspaper.

Intra-Curricular Activities
Intra-curricular activities are available throughout the year. These include in school activities such as Young Authors, Math Triathlon, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, Service Day, and field trips. Students also enjoy a wide variety of interest based clubs such as: Century Readers Club, Chess Club, Musical, Rubiks Cube Club, Math Pentathlon, Read & Destroy Book Club, and Girls on the Run.

Interscholastic Sports
Students in Junior High (6-8) have the opportunity to play team sports. Team sports include: co-ed soccer, boys & girls basketball, boys & girls volleyball, co-ed track, co-ed cross country and girls cheerleading.
