PARENT NOTE – December 14, 2020
“GO: Compelled By Love!”
Psalm 32:8

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
2020 has been a long haul. However, the sentiment of the year has been that “a tough situation isn’t so tough when you’re with a great team.” Each of you has been a valuable part of the HCS team. On behalf of the Highland Christian Board and staff, we want to thank you for your partnership. You have been excellent partners and each of you has been a valued part of our corporate success.
As we enter the last week before Christmas Break, take this time to glorify our heavenly Father. His goodness has certainly been on display through the work being done to advance His Kingdom. Furthermore, I would encourage you to find a way to thank your child’s teacher(s). It is not uncommon for teachers to begin their work hours before the world wakes up, and hours after the world goes to bed. The HCS staff is incredible!
As you go into Christmas Break, my prayer is that you are granted time with your family to celebrate the birth of our Savior. To Him be all the glory!

Blessings,
Mr. Kyle Weener

3. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. . .” Psalm 32:8
During the weeks before Christmas, we celebrate the hope, peace, love, and joy we find in Jesus.  He is our and the world’s hope, peace, love, and joy.  “Go” with World Renew in sharing this with people around the world who experience oppression, hunger, illness, and disasters in poverty.
World Renew 2020-21 gifts are a way to “Go: compelled by love” to people who face oppression and poverty. Each duck, tool, and handwashing station can repair harm and help build people’s lives. Praying for and helping others is the way we “Go: compelled by love”.  What will you give to share the hope, peace, love, and joy of Jesus with others?
Choose gift tags from the Giving Tree set up near the front entrance of school.  Put your money or check (made out to World Renew) in an envelope or box.  (You may put multiple tags in one envelope or box.)  Gift wrap the box or put a bow on the envelope.  Bring it back to school.  Place your gift in a special place in your classroom.
