Kindergarten – 8th Grade
The goals at Highland Christian School are to provide a high quality Christ-centered education that reflects a comprehensive world and life view, helping parents to fulfill their educational obligation consistent with the Holy Scriptures and the Reformed creeds. Highland Christian School aims to graduate students with academic competence that also know, serve, and love God and their neighbor.
All courses are Christ-centered, meeting a high academic standard, and taught by faculty committed to Christian instruction and scholarship. A life of worship demands that all activities are aimed at the honor of God and a life of Kingdom service that is consistent with God’s unique design and purpose in the life of each individual.
Curriculum Guide – Kindergarten – 8th Grade Admissions
Kindergarten
The kindergarten program offers two attendance options: full-day three days per week, and full-day five days per week. The full-day kindergarten classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The three full-day kindergarten class meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Bus service for half-day kindergarteners is a one-way service – a.m. pick up only. Students in full-day kindergarten have the option of morning and/or afternoon transportation.
The cut-off birth date for kindergarten is September 1 of the year that your child is starting school. All children entering Highland Christian School are tested before they begin school.
Other HCS Information
The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and dismisses at 3:15 p.m. There are two class sections per grade. Class sizes range from approximately 16 to 24 students per class. Aides may be added based upon best educational practice and these decisions are based on the consideration of many factors.
Bus service is available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Full-day students have the option of morning and/or afternoon transportation
Tuition
The 2011-2012 school year fees are set in the spring. The fees listed below are based on the 2010-2011 school year and are subject to change.
Highland Christian School Tuition:
- $5,135.00 cost of education per full-time student
- $4,110.00 per five full-day kindergarten student
- $3,090.00 per three full-day kindergarten student
